A MESSAGE FROM THE COMMANDANT OF THE MARINE CORPS Top of the mornin', runners! Welcome to the 19th Annual Irish Sprint and Stride. This event, a combined effort by the civilian and military communities of San Francisco, raises funds for the betterment of two of my favorite charities -- The Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program and the Devil Pups Program. Toys for Tots provides Christmas toys to needy children, and the Devil Pups Program helps young girls and boys develop self-confidence and pride through Marine mentored activities. I want each and every one of you to know that you have my heartfelt gratitude for coming out on a Saturday morning to support so noble an event. The Marine Corps needs the support of every community to continue to provide the highest level of defense for our great Nation. Knowing that the citizens of San Francisco stand ready to provide this support is a great comfort to the members of your Marine Corps, and I thank you.
